we understand ITW originally offered $5.95 cash for each Siddons share and then adjusted their offer to $5.68 with shareholders retaining their entitlement to fully franked special and interim dividends of 62 cents per share declared by Siddons Ramset after receipt of the first offer - we are not aware if the second offer was further sweetened (and would be glad to hear from anyone who has the detail)	23/06/2000
