we understand Newmont was successful in acquiring the 14% of Normandy NFM that it did not already own by offering a choice of either A$16.50 cash per NFM share held (with A$9.90 a share paid as a fully franked dividend), or 4.4 Newmont CDIs per NFM share (which equated to A$18.83 a share based on the closing price on 17 March 2003 of A$4.28 for the ASX-listed Newmont CDIs)
