we understand BAA was originally listed on ASX to raise awareness of the company prior to the Phase 1 privatisations in Australia - by 1998, trading volumes had been very small and BAA had acquired only limited interests in Melbourne - this level of involvement in Australia did not appear to warrant a continuation of the Australian listing, so BAA shares were delisted
